BMC Student Experience Fee – Full Time Students
Blue Mountain College’s mission is to assist students in developing intellectual integrity, academic excellence, civility, and Christian character. Beginning in the fall of 2016 a student will now pay one simple fee for the tools and experiences necessary to succeed in your studies and enhance your life as a student. This student experience fee provides:
High Speed Wi-Fi
Wifi - High speed fiber connection with WIFI connectivity exists throughout the campus. The IT Department maintains and updates technologies for student enhancement. Computer labs for student use are located in Guyton Library, Fisher/Washburn Hall, Lowrey Administration Building and the Education Building.
Campus ID Card
Your ID Card is scanned for chapel attendance; grants entrance to residence halls, dining hall, home athletic events, Wellness Center; provides discounts at local restaurants; and allows student to check out laptops and other library materials.
A decal from Student Services permits parking in any of 10 campus parking lots.
Access to the Teaching & Learning Center (TLC)
The TLC is equipped with 30 computers (including 10 iMacs), a printer and stations for studying. Tutoring sessions, study skills workshops, and individualized attention by faculty and student academic coaches are available for students interested in optimal learning.
Access to the Library
Guyton Library provides access to the primary book and periodical collections, electronic information, and learning resources for the entire campus; a group study room; a scanner to save materials to a USB Memory Storage Device; and 13 laptops which may be checked out. Access to electronic resources for study and research through a mini website and to other libraries is also available.
Access to the Wellness Center
The workout area has four elliptical machines, four treadmills, three recumbent bikes, and weight machines and equipment for 31 exercise stations. Massage therapy is available at a discounted rate per session for students.
Valuable Student Success and Career Services
Resources that will help you decide on a major, develop resume writing and interviewing skills, and discover possible employment opportunities are available. In keeping with the College’s mission, our purpose is to be a dynamic contributor for the complete educational experience for our students. Our goal is to foster constructive partnerships and opportunities among students, alumni, and potential employers as well as planning and implementing career objectives.
Print and scan services
Print services allow you to print up to 100 pages per semester at no additional cost. You may purchase a minimum of $5 additional printing.
Admission to home athletic events
All BMC home games for men’s and women’s sports are included.
Admission to campus theatre performances
Admission to a variety of theatre productions and musical performances is included.
Admission to special campus events
Social events such as Welcome Back parties, Noonday and Prime Time at the Baptist Student Union, and many other student experiences are included.
Participation in campus societies and intramural sports
Societies provide students an opportunity to belong to a small social group. Membership to a society also provides opportunities for participation in intramural sports for the development not only of the body but also of the mind in fair play and good sportsmanship, stimulation of health consciousness, and the encouragement of activities which promote health, recreational, and spiritual values
Personal copies of BMC Publications
Campus publications include: the Mountaineer (the yearbook), the Mountain Breeze, (an annual of journal of essays, poetry, and short stories written by students and faculty of the College) and the B M Seer (a publication produced periodically by students under the direction of the English faculty which covers topics including campus life and activities, interviews, and special events.)
Health Care Services
A Health Care Coordinator is available to administer first aid care and/or transport a student to a local health care provider.
Campus Mail Services
Full time resident students are provided a personal mailbox. FedEx and UPS packages are distributed through the Campus Mail Service.
