Every college needs a band! In 2016, that happened at Blue Mountain
College. As you may know, enrollment at Blue Mountain College has grown
by over 20% during the last two years. That's great news for students,
alumni, and for our community. Blue Mountain has long adopted a practice
of providing opportunities for students that they may not have at
another college or university and our band program is one of those
opportunities.
The BLUESOUND plays for school functions and
in support of Blue Mountains’ Toppers varsity sports teams as well as
performs for various community events. Today, the BLUESOUND is 47
players strong with more wanting to be a part. This is an increase of 22
students from last year! That's extraordinary!
We need your help!
For the BLUESOUND to continue to grow, the band must have additional
instruments. Many of our potential student players do not own personal
instruments yet still desire to be a part of what’s happening here.
Additionally, providing student players access to instruments also
allows them the opportunity to play, while in college, with local church
bands and orchestras. This is a great extension of the Blue Mountain
College Community!
