ALUMNI AWARDS

 The Alumni Association annually recognizes outstanding Alumni in the areas of service, professional achievement, and leadership.Nominations must be submitted by March 31.

Alumna/Alumnus of the Year
The Alumna/Alumnus of the Year Award is presented annually to an alumna/alumnus of Blue Mountain College for:
1. Accomplishments in business or professional life
2. Outstanding services in church and civic organizations at the local, state or national level
3. Specific meritorious services in behalf of the quality and advancement of Blue Mountain College
4. Servant leadership that manifests the College commitment to Truth, Knowledge and Virtue
Distinguished Young Alumna/Alumnus
The Distinguished Young Alumna/Alumnus is presented annually to an alumna/alumnus who graduated within the last 20 years. The award recognizes:
1. Accomplishments in business or professional life
2. Outstanding services in church and civic organizations at the local, state or national level
3. Specific meritorious services in behalf of the quality and advancement of Blue Mountain College
4. Servant leadership that manifests the College commitment to Truth, Knowledge and Virtue
Faithful Daughter Award
The Faithful Daughter Award recognizes and expresses gratitude to an alumna or former student who has demonstrated servant leadership through consistent and faithful interest and investment in the mission and vision of Blue Mountain College, including volunteer work as well as other engagement at the College. The contribution of the recipient may or may not be highly visible but is recognized as significant in moving the College forward and demonstrates the College values of Truth, Knowledge and Virtue.
Faithful Servant Award
The Faithful Servant Award recognizes and expresses gratitude to a ministerial alumnus or former student who has demonstrated consistent and faithful service, thereby reflecting qualities of a servant leader. The contribution of the recipient may or may not be highly visible, but his performance makes a difference in the lives of those he serves. In so doing, the recipient manifests the College values of Truth, Knowledge and Virtue.
Johnnie Armstrong Award
The Johnnie Armstrong Award is presented to an alumnus/alumna who has embraced the five core values of Champions of Character in the fields of Athletics, Physical Education or Kinesiology and demonstrates commitment to the College values of Truth, Knowledge and Virtue. The Champions of Character values are integrity, responsibility, sportsmanship, servant leadership and respect.
Betty Hearn Award
The Betty Hearn Award is presented to an alumnus/alumna who has demonstrated a spirit of servant leadership in the field of education and commitment to the College values of Truth, Knowledge and Virtue. The recipient is usually a K-12 teacher or administrator but could also be a community college or college/university faculty member or administrator.
Ed Ludlow Award
The Ed Ludlow Award is presented to an alumnus/alumna who is recognized for his/her servant leadership in the field of music and who embraces the College commitment to Truth, Knowledge and Virtue.

Carla F. Benson Alumni Class Challenge Award
The Carla F. Benson Alumni Class Challenge Award is presented annually to the class of young alumni with the highest percentage of giving to Blue Mountain College during the fiscal year. Classes considered for this award will have marked no more than 20 anniversaries from the date of graduation.
