Dr. Barbara Childers McMillin
President, Blue Mountain College

McMillin is no stranger to the area. She grew up 15 miles north of Blue Mountain in Falkner, and came to BMC after 20 years at Union University in Jackson, Tenn., where most recently she was Associate Provost and Dean of Instruction.

She is an alumna of Northeast Mississippi Community College, Union University and the University of Mississippi.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Union, McMillin earned both her M.A. and D.A. in English at Ole Miss. As a graduate student, she was a teaching assistant at Ole Miss and an English Instructor at BMC in the summers of 1985 and 1987.

McMillin was a member of the NEMCC English faculty for five years before joining the Union faculty in the fall of 1992. She was named Union’s Faculty of the Year in 1999.

Mr. Jack Moser
Dean of Enrollment and Student Services

Moser, who earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics education at Delta State University, also served as BMC’s women’s basketball coach for 17 years from 1989-2006. He was named TranSouth Athletic Conference co-coach of the year in 2002.

Prior to joining Blue Mountain, he served in various capacities as principal, teacher and coach for eight years at Pillow Academy in Greenwood, Miss.  His boys’ team won the Mississippi Private Schools Association Class AAA championship in 1983, and while in Greenwood he earned his certificate of secondary administration from Delta State. He also has done additional graduate work at the University of Mississippi.

His wife, Tracy, is the Director of the Baptist Student Union at BMC.

Board of Trustees

Blue Mountain College, a Mississippi nonprofit corporation supported by the Mississippi Baptist Convention, is operated by a Board of Trustees which consists of no fewer than fifteen and no more than twenty-four members.  At the present time, the College has eighteen trustees who are elected by the Mississippi Baptist Convention after having been recommended by the Blue Mountain College Board of Trustees and the Nominating Committee of the Mississippi Baptist Convention.

Trustees elected by the Mississippi Baptist Convention take office January 1 following their election and serve a three-year term which expires on December 31 three years thereafter.  Trustees may be re-elected for another three-year term.

Any former trustee may be reelected, notwithstanding previous service of two or more consecutive terms, after a one-year period of not serving as a trustee.  The current list of members of the Board of Trustees for Blue Mountain College includes:
