LOCATIONSituated in the Mississippi hills, the College location is included in the Mississippi Hills National Heritage Area (MHNHA), an area designated by Congress and the President in April of 2009. Bounded approximately by Interstate 55 to the west and Highway 14 to the south, MHNHA covers 19 full counties and portions of 11 others in the northeastern part of the Magnolia state. MHNHA represents a distinctive cultural landscape shaped largely by the dynamic intersection of Appalachian and Delta cultures, an intersection which produced a powerful concentration of nationally-significant cultural icons. Lasting contributions to our country’s musical and literary legacies were forged by Hills natives Elvis Presley, William Faulkner, Tennessee Williams, Howlin’ Wolf, and Tammy Wynette. MHNHA is filled with vibrant communities that share a common geography and history. the historic, cultural, natural, scenic, and recreational treasures of the Mississippi Hills.

The College is also located 20 minutes from major medical facilities and other services. The more rural setting of the College combines the peacefulness of a campus tucked away on a hillside with easy access to amenities and services of a large metropolitan area.
The Blue Mountain College campus proper is located on approximately 60 acres of a beautiful hillside with a pond and waterfall on campus. The College owns over 100 additional acres of adjoining land where athletic fields are being constructed to support the expanding intercollegiate athletic program and the intramural program. |
