PARKING DECALS & TICKETS Parking Tickets are $25 for each violation.

Commuters need to pick up their Parking Decal in the Office of Student Services. All vehicles on campus should have a parking decal affixed to the left rear glass. Tickets will be issued to vehicles without a parking decal and tickets issued for violations will be charged to the students’ accounts.
Security guards will issue Parking Tickets for all Parking Violations – No Parking Decal on your vehicle; Parking in a Reserved Space (including Faculty/Staff, Handicapped, Visitor, etc.); Parking on the grass; Parking outside parking space lines; Obstructing a building entrance, loading zone, or the flow of traffic; Parking in a NO Parking zone.

THE BANK (COFFEE SHOP)

The Bank (coffee shop) will be open Monday – Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. with free coffee and sweet tea for current faculty, staff and students. Please take advantage of this service which is sponsored this month by the Board of Trustees. On Tuesday – Friday Daylight Donuts will bring donuts, donut holes and pastries in bundles costing $2 each. Please place your money in the jar provided so we can continue this partnership with Daylight Donuts.

BUSINESS OFFICE

All bills for room and board, tuition, and fees of every kind must be paid in full to the Business Office before the student’s official transcript can be released or a diploma can be awarded. In the event that a student’s account is not paid by the end of the academic session, interest may be charged on the unpaid balance at the current rate of interest. Grades will not be accessible until satisfactory arrangements have been made in the Business Office.

ATTENTION 2019 CANDIDATES FOR UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES!

All students who expect to complete degree requirements by December 2018, May 2019, or July/August 2019, must submit an application for degree to the Office of the Registrar by Friday, September 15. Information concerning commencement and the application for degree process as well as the application form are posted at www.bmc.edu. Click on the ACADEMICS tab and then the OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR tab. Scroll down the page and click on the Application for Degree link. Carefully read the information items and then complete and submit the Application for Degree. Contact the Office of the Registrar if you have questions concerning the application for degree process.

PROSPECTIVE TEACHER INTERNS - Spring 2019:

Applications for teacher internship will be available in the Education Office beginning Tuesday, September 4, through Friday, September 21. If you plan to enroll in internship, you must first fill out an application and then attend a mandatory seminar on Wednesday, September 26, at 3:30 in Coward-Martin Education Building Room 110.

ID BADGES

Students need to retain their ID Badges for the coming years. If they lose it, or it gets destroyed, they will be entitled to one replacement card per semester. They will be charged $32 for each replacement card after the first one each semester. Please do not throw the badges away at the end of the semester.

FINANCIAL AID ANNOUNCEMENTS

Check out the Financial Aid Application Checklist, http://www.bmc.edu/fa_checklist.asp on the BMC website!! Includes information you need to apply for federal financial aid for 2018-19. Scholarship opportunities are also listed.

The 2018-19 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is available now. If you plan on being enrolled beginning August, 2018, you must complete a 2018-19 FAFSA. https://fafsa.ed.gov/. You are encouraged to use the Data Retrieval Tool, (DRT) when filing your 2018-19 FAFSA. You will report 2016 taxes.

If you are a Mississippi resident you may now apply for Mississippi state aid for 2018-19 www.riseupms.com

CHAPEL ABSENCES

Students are allowed six (6) chapel absences each semester. These six allowed absences will not be used in determining the chapel grade. For each chapel absence over the six (6) allowed, a $50 fine will be automatically assessed to the student’s account. The absence will not be cleared until the fine is paid in the Business Office. Holds will be placed on the student’s account until the excessive chapel absences are cleared.

Students currently with holds on their accounts due to Chapel absences should follow the procedures for clearing these absences which were in force when the absence occurred. Satisfactory chapel attendance is a graduation requirement. Diplomas will not be awarded until the chapel absences are cleared.

WELLNESS CENTER INFORMATION

Wellness Center Hours:
Monday through Saturday open 5 AM to 11 PM
Sunday open 2 PM to 5 PM

Wellness Center Policy:
All BMC Faculty and Staff now have the benefit of their spouse and children (living at home, older than 14) being able to use the Wellness Center for free. All they will need to do is fill out the paperwork and pay a $10 card fee.

The Wellness Center is striving to promote a culture of WELLNESS on our Blue Mountain College campus and in our community, and to make healthy fitness choices more available to our BMC family and community.
