Financial Aid Announcements

The 2016-17 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available. If you will be attending school between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017, you need to do two things:
1. Get an FSA ID-(if you don’t have one) On May 10, 2015, the PIN was replaced with a username and password called the FSA ID. If you have not yet created an FSA ID go to http://fsaid.ed.gov and create one before you start your FAFSA. If you provide parental information on your FAFSA, your parent will need his or her own FSA ID.
2. Submit your FAFSA-go to http://fafsa.gov and click the green “Login” button. Use your FSA ID to start you FAFSA.
If you are a resident of Mississippi apply for state aid.

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR
FOR SUMMER 2016 TERMS AND FALL 2016 SEMESTER


SCHEDULING PROCESS

Faculty advisors will be enrolling current Blue Mountain College students in summer 2016 and fall 2016 classes as follows:
      Seniors – week of February 29
      Juniors – week of March 7
      Sophomores - week of March 21
      Freshmen – week of March 28


Students are asked to follow instructions listed below:

1. Each degree-seeking student must meet with his/her advisor to obtain approval of his/her summer 2016 and fall 2016 class schedule. Advisors will then enroll the student in his/her summer and fall courses. Non-degree students will enroll in classes through the Office of the Registrar.

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!
Students planning and enrolling in online courses especially the summer online courses, should be certain that they know the beginning and ending dates of the courses (i.e., the Term I online summer courses begin April 25, before the spring semester is over, and the Term II online summer courses will not end until August 14.)

2. Each class (seniors, juniors, sophomores, freshmen) will be expected to complete the scheduling process for the summer terms and fall semester within a week's time. Space is limited in some classes so it is imperative that each class complete the scheduling process within the deadline given.

REGISTRATION

If you have questions concerning the enrollment process, please contact the Office of the Registrar. Registration for the summer terms and fall semester is not complete until each student has completed required forms and has obtained clearance from the Office of Business Affairs. (A GPS link will be available on the Blue Mountain College Web Site at a later date. This link will direct all students to required registration forms and specific registration information/deadlines. Watch for an upcoming announcement with more details and deadlines.) Students who complete registration after the announced registration period may be assessed a late registration fee.

NOTE: Advisors of candidates for degrees for August 15, 2016, will need to be certain to enroll these students in their summer coursework.

RESERVING DORM ROOMS AND CAMPUS HOUSING FOR FALL 2016

It is time to reserve your room for the Fall Semester.
1. Before coming to our office (Student Services), pay your $10.00 room deposit in the Office of Business Affairs.
2. Bring your receipt to our office (Dean Moser’s) and complete the room request form.
3. We will follow this order:
      Monday-Friday; Feb. 29-Mar.4 — 2015-2016 Non-graduating Seniors
      Monday-Friday; March 7-11 — 2015-2016 Juniors
      Monday-Friday; March 21-25 — 2015-2016 Sophomores
      Monday-Friday; March 28-April 1 — 2015-2016 Freshman

4. If you are not planning to return to campus housing, please notify the Office of Student Services.

*Friday, April 1, is the deadline for “holding a room”. Your failure to reserve a room by that date will mean we cannot assure you a specific room.
**After Friday, May 6 we cannot guarantee you a room in campus housing if you do not reserve a room.

SUMMER I and II 2016 ONLINE TERM STUDENTS

*MARK your calendars when your online courses begin and end, and check your BMC email accounts regularly throughout the summer!!

•SUMMER I 2016 Online Students:

The SUMMER I 2016 Online Term begins APRIL 25. Training, Ordering Text, and Browser settings information will be emailed to preregistered online students' BMC email accounts on MARCH 28. Login instructions will be emailed to BMC email accounts on APRIL 25 to those students who made payment arrangements with the Office of Business Affairs.

•SUMMER II 2016 Online Students:

The SUMMER II 2016 Online Term begins JUNE 20. Training, Ordering Text, and Browser settings information will be emailed to preregistered online students' BMC email accounts on MAY 23. KOINONIA MEETING

Koinonia, a club for women interested in pursuing full-time Christian vocations, will meet Wednesdays, 12:30 – 1:25, in Broach BSU downstairs. Members please plan to attend. Attendance at the meeting is required of all women students receiving aid from the Board of Ministerial Education and/or receiving CRV Scholarships.

BMC MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION

The BMC Ministerial Association will meet Wednesdays, 12:30 – 1:25,
Lowrey Fellowship Hall. Members please attend.

WELLNESS CENTER HOURS

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday – 5:30 AM to 9:00 PM
Wednesday – 5:30 AM to 7:00 PM
Saturday – 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM

PARKING TICKETS

All vehicles on campus should have a parking decal affixed to the left rear glass. Tickets will be issued to vehicles without a parking decal and tickets issued for violations will be charged to the students’ accounts. Tickets are $25 for each violation.

CHAPEL ABSENCES

Students are allowed six (6) chapel absences each semester. These six allowed absences will not be used in determining the chapel grade. For each chapel absence over the six (6) allowed, the student must make up the absence in order to have the absence cleared. Holds will be placed on the student’s account until the excessive chapel absences are cleared.

Students should complete the requirements for clearing the excessive chapel absence during the semester in which the absence occurs. Satisfactory chapel attendance is a graduation requirement. Diplomas will not be awarded until the chapel absences are cleared.
