Dear BMC Community,
Today and tomorrow we are all afforded the opportunity to thank our donors for their generous support of Blue Mountain College. Students, I encourage each of you to take time to write a note expressing your gratitude to those who are helping to fund your education. “Thank a Donor Day” tables with notecards are set up in the foyer of the Admin beginning at 9:00. Thank you, Kayce and Chelsey, for providing leadership for this event.

Tonight at 6:30 the movie The Case for Christ will be shown in Garrett auditorium. Plan to attend and bring a friend!

Thursday night the Miss BMC pageant will take place in the MLB at 7:00. Best wishes to all contestants!

Congratulations are in order for all members of the BMC community as we celebrate our campus being ranked #8 among regional colleges in the South by US News & World Report. BMC earned the number one spot in the Best Value category for the same region. We are grateful for this recognition of our commitment to academic excellence at an affordable price.

Topper fans everywhere have lots to cheer about these days. Our XC women finished 6th out of a field of 24, with our men finishing 11th out of a field of 20 last weekend at the meet sponsored by Christian Brothers at Shelby Farms. The competition included several Division I opponents. It was an impressive showing by our Topper runners. Andrew McDonald and Dejone Stemmett won the individual titles at the Lyon College invitational golf tournament. Our archers brought home 3 team gold medals at the USCA regionals, with Jessie Davis and Tanner Huffman setting state records with First Place wins. Bowler Austin Harris placed 22nd out of 102 bowlers at the Green River Classic in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Wow!

Show your support for these students athletes by cheering them on in person. Today at 1:00 our JV baseball team will play Martin Methodist here at home. On Saturday at 1:00 our softball girls will take on Ole Miss in Oxford. That will be a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Just a reminder—it is not too late to sign on as a Fine Arts Patron and show your support for our Chorale as they prepare for their Carnegie Hall debut next spring. Check with Dr. Long or Nancy Grisham for more details.

Please continue to pray for the campus revival on October 9-11. I know that many of you are gathering together regularly to pray for God to do a mighty work on our campus. Keep in mind that there is a prayer room on the third floor of the Admin where you can pray and leave requests for prayer.

We are grateful for Maria Teel being with us yesterday in chapel to tell her story.

Check out these cute young Toppers sporting their new T-shirts (our nephews Walker and Mance). J

Greetings!
This is either a very late message or an early one—let’s call it early since I will be traveling on Monday and away from the office. I hope that everyone has enjoyed a blessed week on our beautiful campus. I had the special privilege last night of witnessing the excitement of rush as our female students made their society pledges. Now that was a loud and happy group!

Best wishes to our XC team as they will be competing tomorrow at Freed-Hardeman. Run hard, Toppers! Congrats to Martha Chunn for being named last week’s SSAC runner of the week.

Please continue to pray for all those affected by Harvey and those who are now in the path of Irma. We have a number of graduates who live in Florida. Pray for the safety of all those who are contending with this very serious threat. The BSU is collecting water to send to the hurricane-stricken areas.

Next week I will have the opportunity to represent BMC at the fall meeting of the Mississippi Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Jackson. On Wednesday my travels will then take me to Anderson University in South Carolina for a meeting of the Consortium for Global Education. I covet your prayers as I will be traveling from one destination to the next and away most of the week.

Reminder: Campus Revival, October 9-11!
