Good Morning,
I enjoy starting the week off with some exciting news. Over the weekend seven students represented BMC in the state National Association of Teachers of Singing competition—all seven advanced to the semi-final round! Drew Warford, Isaiah Traylor, Savannah Thomas, and Cadley Burns were awarded first place in their respective categories; William Thompson was awarded second. Great job!

Congratulations are also in store for Andrea Lewis, Matavia Cox, Mallorie Sweat, and Jennifer Milewski for being named NAIA Scholar Athletes! Way to go, ladies!

We look forward to hearing BMC trustee Dr. Tommy Vinson in chapel today. On Friday we will welcome our ministerial alumni for MA Day. Please pray for Dr. Kevin Hamm as he will be our special guest in chapel that day.

Keep me in your prayers this week as I will leave this afternoon to serve on a SACSCOC committee in Texas.

Weather permitting, there will be no shortage of baseball and softball action this week. Check the website for details.

Have a blessed and productive week!

Good Morning,
It is uncharacteristically quiet this morning on the Hill as students and faculty are away enjoying a much-deserved “spring” break—even though it doesn’t feel very spring-like with temperatures hovering in the thirties. Jack and Tracy Moser and a group of BMC students are in New York City on mission; they are experiencing first-hand a “nor’easter,” with 18-24 inches of snow predicted. Keep the team in your prayers.

Several of our athletic teams are on the road this week; baseball, softball, and golf Toppers are in action in a host of places. You can catch the baseball team here at home today and JV baseball Thursday. The JV softball team takes the field in New Albany tomorrow, and the varsity softball team will make a brief stop at home for games on Friday in NA before heading to Bethel on Saturday. Bundle up and come out to support these students!

I am pleased to announce today that Trey Humphreys will join the BMC family as our part-time archery coach this summer. Trey will assume the duties previously held by Clint Gannon, who will now devote his time to his work as assistant athletic director.

Best wishes to all for a restful and refreshing break!

Good Morning,
“Play Week” has arrived and I encourage everyone to make plans to take in this very entertaining production. Arsenic and Old Lace opened last night in Garrett Auditorium. Evening performances are scheduled for 7:30 on Thursday and Friday. Let’s pack the auditorium each night and show the cast and crew our support!

Congratulations are in order for our men’s and women’s varsity basketball teams for having qualified for this week’s SSAC conference tournament. We wish the teams and coaches much success in the opening round of play today. The girls play at 1:30 and the guys at 3:30.

I offer today a special word of thanks to Jean Harrington for her leadership of our staff GROW BMC prayer initiative and to Jessie Jacobs for her leadership of our student GROW BMC initiative. They are directing us to the throne of grace as we seek God’s favor and guidance in growing BMC. Touch base with either of them for more details on how you can be involved.

Speaking of prayer, watching the BMC community join hands and hearts in prayer on Saturday when Justin McClellon injured his ankle during the basketball game was a reminder to me of how special this place is and how blessed I am to serve among such a faithful and loving group. Continue to remember Justin in your prayers; it is a testimony to God’s great goodness and to the power of prayer that Justin’s ankle was dislocated but not broken!

We remain hopeful that we will be playing ball on March 10 at the Sportsplex. As the attached photo attests, the scoreboard is ready to go! Thank you, Stan!
