Good Morning,

It is a beautiful Monday morning here on the Hill, making for a great start to another busy week at BMC. We look forward to welcoming Gary Linville home as he comes to deliver our chapel address today. On Friday we will welcome B.J. Canup, owner of Tremont Floral in Tremont, Mississippi, as our guest speaker.

Tomorrow Dr. Anthony Bullard and student Page Rowland Thorn will be honored in Jackson as the recipients of this year’s HEADWAE awards. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Bullard and Page for this accomplishment.

On Thursday we will welcome several members of our Board of Trustees as well as some special guests to participate in a planning session for our full Board meeting on Friday. We are thankful for each member of our Board and for their service to Blue Mountain College.

Athletic options abound this week; check our website for details on baseball, softball, basketball, and tennis. Saturday marks the final home game of the basketball season. We will honor our seniors at the games in Tyler Gymnasium beginning at 2:00.

Tonight at 5:30 Mary Beth Russell will present her senior worship project in Garrett Auditorium. Friday night at 7:00 William Thompson and Drew Warford will perform their junior voice recital. Our Chorale will be in concert this coming Sunday night at First Baptist, Baldwyn, at 6:00. Please come to as many events as your schedule allows and show these students your support.

Many thanks to the congregation of Carrollton Baptist Church and Pastor Fletcher Moorman for the warm welcome yesterday. It was a delight to be with you, to hear Dr. Thad Moore’s inspiring message, and to fellowship over a delicious meal.

Blessings for a wonderful week,

Dr. Mc

Good Morning,
Congratulations to all Patriots fans for an exciting come-back win in last night’s Super Bowl! It was a fun game to watch and a good reminder of the rewards that accompany perseverance and focus.

“Ample” doesn’t begin to describe the opportunities that this week affords the BMC community. Numerous guests will spend time on campus this week, beginning with Dr. Bill Simms in chapel today. The Finance and Administration committee of our Board will be here this afternoon, followed by Maggie Garrett, our guest vocalist, who will perform at 7:00 in Garrett auditorium. This concert is a featured event in our Carter Lectureship series and is open to the public.

Tomorrow we are pleased to host our annual math/science tournament. Please join me in welcoming these students and their teachers to our campus.

A host of faculty from several sister institutions will be here this week and next week to lead academic program review sessions in several of our departments. This week’s guests include faculty from Union University.

On Thursday our Executive Committee will return to campus to make preparations for the full Board meeting on February 24.

Of course, there is no shortage this week of athletic events. JV basketball will be in action in Tyler Gymnasium tomorrow night at 7:00; the varsity teams will be at home on Thursday and on Saturday. Topper tennis begins its season on Friday in Jackson. Best wishes to Coach Creekmore and the team for a great season!

Kudos to our Topper baseball team for being 5-0 with the start of the season. They take to the road tomorrow but will be back at home Friday and Saturday. Please plan to show these athletes your support.

On Friday I will have the opportunity to share some thoughts with you in chapel. I covet your prayers as I prepare for our time together.

May the joy of the Lord be your strength throughout this day and this week.

Dr. Mc
