I hope everyone enjoyed a pleasant weekend. Monday is off to a great start, Dr. Chad Grayson having shared boldly from God’s Word in chapel this morning. We are very happy to welcome a host of prospective students to BMC for Topper Day; be sure to extend to these students and to their families a warm welcome. On Thursday participants in the Math and Science Tournament will travel to the Hill. Kudos to Dr. Mattox and Dr. Hockings for their work in organizing this event.
Today is the only day this week to watch Topper athletes at home as the baseball team takes on Faulkner University. All other teams are traveling this week.
Tomorrow I will have the privilege of attending the annual HEADWAE luncheon in Jackson where our own Dr. Jenetta Waddell and Anna Brooke Page will be honored as this year’s professor and student of the year from BMC.
I close on this President’s Day with an excerpt from George Washington’s Monday morning prayer:
MONDAY MORNING...O eternal and everlasting God, I presume to present myself this morning before Thy Divine Majesty, beseeching Thee to accept my humble and hearty thanks...direct my thoughts, words and work, wash away my sins in the immaculate Blood of the Lamb, and purge my heart by Thy Holy Spirit...Daily frame me more and more into the likeness of Thy Son, Jesus Christ, that living in Thy fear, and dying in Thy favor, I may in Thy appointed time attain the resurrection of the just unto eternal life. Bless my family, friends and kindred, and unite us all in praising and glorifying Thee in all our works.
