What a lovely weekend we were blessed with! Added to the privilege and blessing of being in the Lord’s house to worship, we marked the beginning of my favorite time of year with the first day of fall on Saturday. I’m looking forward to adding a collection of pumpkins to the assortment of mums that now grace the front porch at Armstrong.
Saturday was also special because it included a meeting of the Middle Tennessee Alumni group on the campus of David Lipscomb University in Nashville. Many thanks to Frances Magers Massey and Patsy Henry Highland for their leadership in bringing this group together and to Lea Bennett and Jill West for making the trip up to engage with this great group of alums. The day became a memory I will never forget when Laura Thompson Vaden of the class of 1949 presented me with her mother’s 1917 BMC class ring! I am wearing with pride the ring that belonged to Annie Lee Spencer Thompson. Thank you, Laura, for this amazing gift—it is a perfect symbol of the grace, dignity, generosity, and commitment that characterize the Blue Mountain graduate.
May grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 2 Peter 1:2
