Good Morning, I hope everyone enjoyed a bountiful Thanksgiving and that all are ready for the busy days that accompany the end of a semester. Despite the label “dead week,” today and each day that follows before the Christmas break will be replete with plenty to occupy our time. Students and faculty are focused and are preparing for final projects and examinations. Best wishes to all for a strong finish to what has been a great fall on the Hill.
We welcome to chapel today Tim and Gloria Thurman, retired Southern Baptist missionaries. On Thursday evening we will launch the Christmas season with the BMC Chorale’s presentation of Lessons & Carols at Lowrey Memorial beginning at 6:00.
On Thursday and Saturday our Topper basketball teams will be in action on campus. The men play Victory at 7:00 on Thursday, and the women play Tougaloo at 2:00 on Saturday.
This afternoon from 4:30 until 6:00 faculty, staff, and students are invited to visit Armstrong, the President’s home, for a Christmas open house.
I look forward to meeting with BMC friends from the Slayden area tomorrow at Slayden Baptist Church. On Wednesday I will be traveling to Jackson, Mississippi, and on Friday to Jackson, Tennessee. On Friday evening I will be speaking to the women of Oakland Baptist Church in Corinth. Please keep me in your prayers as I travel and prepare.
Blessings to all for a wonderful week!
