Good Morning, Over the weekend I was amazed at how quickly the holiday season had arrived. Shades of red and green décor dominate the retail landscape while the familiar strains of holiday tunes fill the air. I am as excited as anyone about the arrival of Christmas, but around our house autumn colors still abound as we anticipate a time of thanksgiving. Up at Armstrong and all around this Hill we have much for which to give thanks. I look forward to our Thanksgiving chapel today as we consider how “Thinking Leads to Thanking” and Friday when Dr. Tim Mimms speaks on “Let Us Give Thanks.”
I am pleased to announce that today Mrs. Joyce Peters will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer and that we are welcoming on board Mr. Steve Robbins as Chief Financial Officer. A Certified Public Accountant with over twenty-five years’ experience in financial planning, Steve brings many gifts to this position which will serve to complement the excellent work that Joyce has done and continues to do on a daily basis.
At 2:00 on Sunday, November 24, the town of Blue Mountain will host a community Thanksgiving service in the Modena Lowrey Berry auditorium. We are glad to welcome our neighbors to campus.
On Thursday the College will host the chaplaincy training program led by Mr. Bowen Johnson. Please join me in making this group feel welcome.
Sports fans at BMC have much to be excited about this week. Congratulations to Coach Parker and our men’s basketball team for two great victories last week over Morthland at home and SPSU on the road. The men and women will play at home this week Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.
Best wishes to Coach Laney and to our Lady Toppers who will represent BMC at the NAIA regionals this Saturday in Kansas City! Way to demonstrate Topper tenacity, ladies!
Pray for our students who will be traveling home to celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends.
This is what God, Yahweh, says— who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it and life to those who walk on it— “I, Yahweh, have called You for a righteous purpose, and I will hold You by Your hand.” Isaiah 42:5-6a
