I hope that the week is off to a great start for everyone. Larry, Sam, and I enjoyed the opportunity for some “beach” time last week; several in our community are away now. I hope everyone travels safely and finds time to relax with family and friends.
As we made the turn off of Highway 15 on Saturday we were excited to see the work going on at the Victorian house. A great team of volunteers from Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama, has returned to continue their outstanding work on this lovely home that will one day house our Office of Alumni Affairs. Please join me in welcoming this team back and in thanking them for their hard work and expertise. Check the progress out on Facebook.
It is with mixed emotions that I share the news that Maria Teel has accepted a position as an administrative assistant to the Executive Director of the Mississippi Baptist Convention. Maria, a graduate of the Class of 2003, has served the College faithfully for 10 years, the last 8 as Director of Admissions. Maria, we know that God has opened a wonderful new door of opportunity for you. I speak for everyone when I say that you will be missed. We wish you the best and trust that God has great plans for you.
Perhaps you have noticed the dust flying on the northeast corner of the campus. Mr. Kenneth Hill and his team are working diligently toward the completion of Phase I of the Sportsplex, the installation of the drainage for the baseball and softball fields. Here’s a big high five to Mr. Kenneth and his crew for their dedication to the task.
Have a blessed day!
