Having spent part of Sunday and much of Monday in Marietta, Georgia, I spent Tuesday catching up. The result is a Wednesday Message. I am pleased to report that Dr. Enzor, Dr. Mattox, Dr. Shankle, Mrs. Peters, and I had a very productive trip to the “kick off” meeting for our next SACS reaffirmation visit in 2015. We can mark our calendars now for the big visit, which will occur April 7-9, 2015.
Join me in welcoming a host of young athletes to our campus for the first of the summer’s sports camps. We hope that there are a number of future Toppers in the group! I spent several summers as a BMC basketball camper, making some great friends and great memories. That’s where I first learned about Topper Tenacity!
We are eagerly anticipating the arrival on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of our alumni and friends who will gather to celebrate Homecoming on the Hill. It will be my great privilege to induct members of the class of 1963 into the Golden Flame Society, to visit with each of the reunion classes, to experience the Fabulous Follies, and to address the group gathered for the annual meeting on Saturday. I am looking forward to hearing from Dr. Tim Townsend at the luncheon on Friday. Lots of folks “liked” identifying the young women from the Class of 63 who were featured on the BMC Facebook page. (Check us out on Facebook and Twitter.) That was a fun activity and a great way to get everyone in the mood to reminisce about good times and good friends from days gone by.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who have contributed to this year’s Annual Fund initiative. You are making a difference at BMC! For more information, go to http://www.bmc.edu/givingonline.asp Have a blessed Wednesday!
