I am excited to announce this morning that Dennis Swanberg will be the guest speaker at the Blue Mountain College 3rd Annual Scholarship Gala. The event will be held in the Modena Lowrey Berry Auditorium on Friday, April 20, 2018.
Swanberg served the local church in pastoral ministry for 23 years. In 1995, Dennis took a leap of faith when he stepped down as church pastor and stepped up to the microphone on stages and platforms all across America and the world.
“The Swan” soon became “AMERICA’S MINISTER OF ENCOURAGEMENT,” a job he takes seriously as he continues to speak to about 150 organizations, faith-based groups and corporations every year. He hosted two successful TV series, authored 9 books, and created over two dozen DVD/CD productions.
This year’s Scholarship Gala will also celebrate the impact of Dr. Bettye Rogers Coward and Dr. Bobby P. Martin upon the College with the renaming and dedication of the education building as Coward – Martin Hall. We are delighted to bestow this honor on these two very special individuals and look forward to celebrating with them on April 20.
What a weekend it was for Topper fans! Congratulations to our Topper archers who were ranked fourth overall out of 29 teams competing in Las Vegas. Archer Alexis Platt brought home the silver in women’s basic bow; she and Carson Hall partnered to bring home gold in the basic bow mixed team event. On the hardwood, our varsity men stunned nationally ranked Dalton State with a huge win on Saturday night at Tyler Gymnasium. Come out Saturday and cheer on both varsity teams as they take on William Carey for Senior Day. If you haven’t been to a home game, this is your last chance to watch the Toppers and enjoy the great atmosphere created by Blue Sound and our great cheer team.
Best wishes to our Topper softball team as they begin their season at Freed-Hardeman tomorrow. Go, Toppers!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
