I hope that everyone enjoyed a restful weekend after a very action-packed week at BMC! Each of the inaugural events was meaningful and memorable. Many thanks to all who worked so hard to make it a very special event and to all who displayed their support and encouragement through their attendance, prayers, and words of encouragement.
We now move out of inauguration mode into commencement mode as the excitement begins to build for our two graduation services on May 11. Seniors, the countdown has begun! Enjoy these days and plan to finish strong.
Congratulations to the BMC Chorale for their outstanding inaugural concert. You presented a stellar performance that was beautiful and worshipful.
Congratulations are also in order for our BMC softball team, who posted the first winning season in our young team’s history with a record of 23 and 18 in regular season play. The Lady Toppers will begin post-season play on Wednesday. We are proud of you!
Last week was obviously a week of firsts, as our men’s golf team brought home the TranSouth Conference Championship and earned a trip to Oregon to play in the nationals. Way to go, guys!
After all of the formal events of last week, we will change the pace and tone a bit this evening at 6:00 on the Green as we enjoy the Inaugural Sunset Celebration. Come out and enjoy hot dogs, snow cones, ice cream, cotton candy, music, games, and a movie!
I’ll conclude this week’s Monday Message asking you to focus with me on the phrase “Soli Deo Gloria,” a Latin term for “glory to God alone.” Johann Sebastian Bach and other composers have used this phrase or the initials “S.D.G.” to focus the attention of their audience on the only One to Whom glory and honor are due. Let’s focus our attention today and every day on ascribing to our Lord the praises due to Him alone.
(The flowers are some of the many that graced Armstrong last week. Enjoy.)
