Here we are at the start of a much-anticipated week. The campus is glowing and buzzing with activity. Before we take off into the whirlwind of activities that this week holds, let’s pause, take a deep breath, and focus our attention on the One deserving of our worship, keeping Him at the center of all that we do. Psalm 150 will set the tone for the week:
1 Praise the Lord.
Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. 2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. 3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, 4 praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, 5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
Words of congratulations are in order today for Dr. Sharon Enzor, to whom the Mountain Breeze was dedicated, and to Sheila Freeman, who received the same honor for theMountaineer. Congratulations to the staffs and sponsors of these publications for their hard work.
Kudos to Dr. Stewart Bennett and the student interns who received the “Golden Hammer” from the Union County Historical Society and Heritage Museum for their contributions as volunteers.
A big “way to go” to all of our student athletes who were honored at Saturday evening’s Athletic Awards program.
Here’s a shout out to Jon Tyler White and the members of the praise team who led so capably at last night’s “Thinking Christianly” worship service at First Baptist, New Albany. It was a wonderful evening.
We welcome today Dr. Rhonda Kelley as our “inaugural” chapel speaker. Dr. Kelley will sign copies of her books in the foyer of the admin building immediately following the service.
Remember the commissioning service for our summer missionaries at 6:30 on Wednesday at Lowrey Memorial.
The rest of the week’s activities are outlined on the website: http://www.bmc.edu/inauguration.asp. Off-campus constituents please remember, if you can’t attend the inaugural celebration on Friday, you can watch it via our website.
Pictured below is the newest addition to our campus: a prayer garden designed by Chris Driskell with the help of Tracy Moser, Larry McMillin, and the National Management team. If you can’t join us in person this week, picture yourself sitting on this bench as you voice a special prayer for Blue Mountain College.
