Greetings, Excitement abounds as new and returning students flood the campus in anticipation of tomorrow’s first day of class! The Hill was buzzing yesterday as residential students checked in to their home away from home, enjoyed their first meal in Ray Dining Hall, worshipped together in Garrett, and participated in a host of “get acquainted” activities. With some still completing the registration process, it will be a few days before we have enrollment statistics. If the abundance of vehicles on campus is a good indicator, it is going to be a good number—and for that we say Soli Deo Gloria!
I want to say a special word of thanks to our faculty for their participation last week in the workshop led by Eileen Zamora of On Course. By all accounts, the time was well spent, focusing on practical application of active learning strategies. Thank you, faculty, for your commitment to academic excellence at BMC. Our students are blessed to be mentored, challenged, encouraged, and equipped by scholars such as you.
I look forward to Friday’s Convocation chapel, which serves as the official launch of the 2017-18 academic year. Keep me in your prayers as I prepare to share a few thoughts about “testimonies and transformations.”
