The autumnal equinox has occurred and we can now officially say, “Happy Fall, Ya’ll!” The first full week of fall is packed with activities, so have your calendar handy so you won’t miss an opportunity.
Tomorrow morning at 7:30 we will gather at the flag pole on the green to pray together as part of the annual See You at the Pole observance. For each of the following five Wednesdays (October 5, 12, 19, 26, November 2) we will observe a campus-wide time of prayer in the auditorium at 7:30 a.m. focusing specifically on prayers for the upcoming election, for our GROW BMC initiative, and for revival here on our campus and on the campuses of our sister institutions.
Our golf team is currently in second place at the “Battle on the Bayou” tournament in Louisiana. They will complete play today. On Thursday the JV baseball team will be in action against Bethel in New Albany; our cross country runners will seek to continue their winning ways in Huntsville this weekend.
On Thursday evening the junior class will sponsor a BMC beauty pageant at 7:30 in the auditorium.
Today we will welcome to campus the members of our Board’s Advancement Committee; on Friday the members of the Executive Committee will be on campus to plan for next week’s full Board meeting. We are grateful for the leadership and dedication of each of our trustees. Please join me in making them feel welcome.
Please join me as well in extending a word of welcome to Lynn Harrison. Lynn is joining us in a part-time capacity as the coordinator of the Leora Duce Leadership Diploma program. She will be on campus on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Her office is located in the alumni suite.
Enjoy this beautiful fall day and the days ahead!
