Counting School Days
Greetings,

Let us begin this week by focusing on the goodness of God and the many ways in which He bestows His favor upon us. Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish for us the work of our hands—establish the work of our hands! Psalm 90:17

Counting “school days” only, twenty days remain until Commencement on May 9. Seniors, enjoy these remaining days. Our prayer is that you will finish strong. May the Lord establish the work of your hands! We will celebrate the accomplishments of these students at our annual awards day program on Friday at 10:00.

Today in chapel we will hear from assistant professor of biology Dr. Mitzi Dunagan.

Weather permitting, the baseball and softball diamonds at BNA Park will be busy this week with Topper action Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Check the website for times.

Wednesday will be a fun day on campus as Literacy on the Lawn returns to the Hill. We look forward to welcoming many young visitors to this special event.

I am especially excited this week about an event that will occur at 3:00 in the Faculty Parlor in Whitfield. DiDi Ruff Nicolau will be our guest speaker at a TACT-sponsored event called “Sweet Tea and Civility.” DiDi will be speaking on the life of her grandmother, BMC alumna Jessie Berry Doty. The story of DiDi’s grandmother, affectionately known as “Munny,” is a compelling and inspiring one. If your schedule permits, please come out to learn how civility characterized and shaped the life of Jessie Berry Doty.

A familiar face returns to campus today. We are pleased to welcome Chelsey Griffin back from maternity leave.

This past Saturday I enjoyed the company of several of our Nashville area alums. What a treat to hear from the Singing Belles! This Saturday several of us will be traveling to Huntsville to fellowship with graduates and to visit with prospective students from the North Alabama area.

Give the following folks a birthday greeting this week: Steven Colburn, Jade Albritton, Nathan Bailey, Trinity Faulkner, James Shemwell, Rolanda Tipler, Brandi Long, Johnathan Ogletree, Anna Davis, Emma Baxter, Page Rowland, Brittany Tallant, Drew Warford, Stephanie Rowell, Jordan Mixon, Gabrielle Malone, Jacob Russell, Dr. Johnny Mattox, and Dale Cutrer.
