Special Guests
Good Morning,

I hope that each of you enjoyed a great weekend and took the opportunity to join with other believers in worship. I’m still reflecting on Friday’s chapel service—thank you, Anfernee and Dr. Honea, for inspiring us in song and in word. We welcome Jim Ray today and Lee Brand to our chapel time on Friday.

Just a reminder that we have special guests on campus today and tomorrow; we are pleased to welcome the accreditation team from the State Department of Education. These guests are here to conduct their periodic review of our own teacher education program.

On Tuesday we will host participants in this year’s math/science tournament. Please welcome and encourage these area high schoolers as they seek to do their best.

It is a busy week leading up to Valentine’s Day on Saturday. The bachelor/bachelorette auction Tuesday at 5:00 will surely spark some interest!

Our basketball teams are on the road this week. Pray for their safe travels. A special word of congratulations goes out to our baseball Toppers; these guys swept the series with Union over the weekend! We are so proud of you! The season’s first opportunity to cheer the Toppers on at home happens this Friday and Saturday as they take on Belhaven. Please come out and show them your support.

I’m looking forward to being at Tiplersville Baptist Church this Wednesday night for the joint January Bible Study with Falkner, Walnut, and Providence Baptist Churches. Dr. Meeks is the leading the study. On Sunday night I’ll be at First Baptist, Baldwyn, with Bro. Stanley Huddleston (rescheduled from this week).

On a bittersweet note, I share with you today that our Development Officer, Duane Bullard, has indicated that he will begin his full-time retirement in May. We will celebrate Duane’s service to our community at a later date.

Birthday greetings this week go to Demargo Bell, Sarah Brown, Patrick Clendinning, Casey Davis, Katie Denton, Grace Durbin, Micayla Everett, Caitlin McDaniel, and Sarah Roberson.

I close this week’s Monday Message asking each of you to keep the family of U.S. Representative Alan Nunnelee in your prayers. We are saddened by Representative Nunnelee’s passing. His service will be at 2:00 this afternoon at Calvary Baptist in Tupelo.
