On this Monday morning following the Super Bowl I’m sure there will be no shortage of water cooler conversation about the play that won the game for the New England Patriots. Here’s a big shout out to Malcolm Butler, the Vicksburg native who is being hailed as the hero of the game. In one of many post-game interviews, Malcolm noted that he was simply in the right place doing what he was supposed to do. May we begin this week at BMC prayerful that the Lord will order our steps, guiding us too to be in the right place and doing what He would have us do!
Speaking of shout-outs, kudos to both Topper basketball teams for their Saturday victory over Belhaven and to the Topper baseball team for a great win Saturday over sixth-ranked Georgia Gwinnett. Basketball returns to Tyler Gymnasium on Saturday as Bethel comes to BMC; baseball action happens in Jackson, TN on Friday and Saturday as the Toppers take on the Union Bulldogs. I encourage you to come on out or to travel along and show these great athletes your support.
We had a great day on Saturday with the central Mississippi area alums and Dr. and Mrs. Fisher. Many thanks to Maria Teel and Norma Ruth Robbins Lee for hosting a great event.
Today students will complete the Student Satisfaction Survey during the chapel period. We look forward to hearing from Dr. Honea on Friday.
We are happy to welcome to campus this week members of our Board of Trustees who will be here for their committee meetings in preparation for the full Board meeting on February 27.
Birthday greetings this week to Dr. Emily Derrick, William Allen Downs, Katy Ruth Ferrell, Haley Forsythe, Rachel McFatridge, Jessica Maria Mensi, Marina Posadas, Hanna Roberts, Kimberly Robinson, and Mary Emma Turner.
I look forward to being at First Baptist, Baldwyn, with Bro. Stanley Huddleston this coming Sunday night.
Have a great week!
