Isn’t it great to have sunshine to usher in the first Monday of the new year! I hope that each of you enjoyed a restful and refreshing break with family and friends. My family and I saw the New Year arrive in Chicago; we were happy to head south before snow blanketed the upper Midwest. As the holidays come to a close, it is sometimes challenging to get back into the “swing of things.” I am grateful today for the privilege of returning to a routine that supports the life-changing mission of Blue Mountain College. May God instill in us today a renewed appreciation for and commitment to the work to which He has called each of us.
A special word of congratulations today to our Topper basketball teams. Their road trips last week resulted in a sweep for BMC. Our men defeated conference-leading Brewton-Parker on Saturday and are on a four-game winning streak. The women grabbed their fifth consecutive NAIA win. Both teams will be in action Friday and Saturday at home. Let’s start 2015 off by turning out in force to cheer our Toppers on to victory!
I will be traveling on Friday to Mississippi College for the January meeting of the Education Commission.
Blessings to all for a great 2015!
