No Shortage of Opportunities
Good Morning,

I trust that everyone enjoyed the long weekend and had the opportunity to relax a bit following the busy start to the semester. As of last Friday afternoon, 532 students had completed the enrollment process; a few additional students will complete the process today. These additions will put us slightly ahead of last fall’s enrollment, which was 532. We are pleased to welcome 24 students into our graduate programs, compared to 12 last fall. Nineteen students are dually enrolled at North Pontotoc. We are excited to welcome each of these students to Blue Mountain College!

As we settle in to the routine of the semester, we find that there is no shortage of opportunities for being engaged in the life of BMC. The Wellness Center has opened for use by faculty, staff, and students. An open house is scheduled for 10:00 on Saturday. The Johnnie Armstrong Gal-ry and Campus Store is open in its new location and is proving to be a great place both to shop and to hang out between classes.

In addition to the open house on Saturday, we will be introduced to our Topper athletes at Meet the Toppers Day. Festivities begin at 7:30 with registration for the annual Topper Day 5K Run/Walk followed by fun activities for children and the sale of Topper Gear at 10:00 in Tyler Gymnasium. The annual hamburger lunch will begin at 11:00 (tickets will be available on-site.) Athletes from all teams will be introduced at noon in the gym. Competition has already begun for some of our teams. On Saturday our women’s cross country team finished second to Tulane in the season opener at Mississippi College. Congratulations on a fine start!

We are pleased to welcome back to campus the members of our Alumni Association Board here for their fall meeting on Friday evening and Saturday morning.

Please be in prayer for me as I will be traveling to Jackson for the MAICU meeting on Friday.

May the Lord order your steps through this day and the days ahead.
