A Foundation of Excellence
Blue Mountain College has a reputation for producing quality teachers. With the addition of the Master of Education Degree in Elementary Education, a 30-credit hour program, BMC is building on its program of excellence that has benefited the teaching profession, countless communities, and thousands of children that have been touched by the lives of BMC graduates.
Teacher Needs
The demand for certified teachers in the region served by Blue Mountain College is continually growing. The Master of Education Degree in Elementary Education program will provide teachers with the tools needed to meet the challenges of the federally mandated initiatives in the “No Child Left Behind” Act.
Educators who earn an advanced degree improve their socioeconomic status and improve their standard of living through pay increases. In addition, these teachers can gain an advanced license (Class AA). The Master of Education in Elementary Education also serves school districts by providing courses which teachers can use for recertification and staff development purposes.
Accessibility
In an effort to meet the needs of working teachers, Blue Mountain College has scheduled graduate classes at times when students can attend - during summer months, nights, and weekends.
Students will find Blue Mountain College’s central location a plus when considering traveling costs associated with graduate education. At $265 per semester hour, the graduate tuition is competitive with institutions of higher learning in the region.

Financial Aid is available for teachers seeking a graduate degree in education through various grants, loans, and/or scholarships.
