 Blue Mountain College has a reputation for producing quality teachers.  With the addition of the Master of Education Degree in Elementary Education and Master of Education Degree in Literacy/Reading K-12, a 30-credit hour program, BMC is building on its program of excellence that has benefited the teaching profession, countless communities, and  thousands of children that have been touched by the lives of BMC graduates.

Accessibility

In an effort to meet the needs of working teachers, Blue Mountain College has  scheduled graduate classes at times when students can attend - during summer months, nights, weekends, and hybrid classes. 

Students will find Blue Mountain College’s central location a plus when considering traveling costs associated with graduate education.  At $275 per semester hour, the graduate tuition is competitive with institutions of higher learning in the region.


Core Courses:  30 Total Hours

Option for National Board Certification (NBC)
An additional 3-6 hour option will be offered for students seeking National Board Certification.  ED 640 Special Topics in Elementary, will be included in the track for NBC and ED 605 Instruction Design.

Academic Calendar

Admission to the Program
1. Meet the general requirements for admission to Graduate School at Blue Mountain College.
2. Provide official transcripts of all completed college work (including graduate).
3. Provide PRAXIS, GRE or MAT scores.
4. Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
5. Applicant whose native language is not English must have TOEFL scores (minimum score of 550 is required).
6. Provide a copy of current teaching certificate.
7. Recommendations from three persons who know the personal and scholastic qualities of applicant (no 
    action will be taken until all recommendations are received).
8. Application fee will be waived for all Blue Mountain College graduates.
