Freshman Year Experience History
Blue Mountain College initiated the Freshman Year Experience in 2004 with the theme "Great Expectations in an Extreme World." That year the freshman class adopted the term "extreme" and have - in many respects - been a strong class that has embraced its individuality. They are the current senior class and will be graduating in 2008. Incoming freshmen will only have one year to get to know this great class. So, make friends fast!
In 2005, the FYE theme centered around "Mountain Survival: Knowing Christ - Growing Me - Becoming a Part of BMC." This group truly bonded together as a class and have been a close knit group from the start. They are the current junior class.
Last year, the FYE theme was "LIFE Choices" and the focus was on living with the consequences of choices and making RIGHT choices. This class of former-freshmen are a close, fun-loving group and are eager to help incoming freshmen in their transition to college-life.
The theme for the 2007 Freshman Year Experience was the "Ultimate Road Trip" which guided freshmen as they got to know one another and learn their "way around" campus life at BMC.
