1. What courses are offered online?
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION COURSES
Two courses required in the Business Administration Major at Blue Mountain College are currently offered in the online format. All students wishing to major in Business Administration at BMC are required to take the following online courses:

GENERAL EDUCATION COURSES
The purpose of the General Education Program at Blue Mountain College is to prepare students for a lifetime of learning. Inspired by and consistent with the mission as a Christian College, the program is designed to instill basic skills, knowledge, and attitudes deemed necessary for discipline study, global awareness, personal development, and reasoned response to a changing world. This educational experience should assist students as they build academic majors and minors and pursue meaningful careers in service to God and one another. All of the general education courses offered in the online format are required in degree programs at Blue Mountain College. To meet the needs of current high school juniors or seniors and/or homeschoolers who wish to begin college courses prior to completion of requirements for high school graduation, Blue Mountain College grants permission for qualified students to enroll in certain core courses. The student who, at the end of his/her junior year, has completed at least 15 acceptable units (including, at least three in English, two in mathematics, one in science and one in social science) will be granted permission to enroll. The student must have an ACT standard score of at least 23 or a comparable SAT score. A letter of recommendation from the principal is required before a student may be considered for early admission.

SPECIAL EDUCATION (SE) COURSES
Blue Mountain College through an approved program with the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), offers a supplemental endorsement in elementary and secondary Mild/Moderate Disability. The elementary supplemental K-8, which can only be added to an elementary license, may be obtained by completing 18 semester hours. The secondary supplemental endorsement, 7-12, which can be added to a secondary or special subject area license, may be obtained by completing 21 semester hours.

LIBRARY MEDIA (LS) COURSES
Blue Mountain College, through an approved program wiht the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), offers a supplemental endorsement in Library Media (K-12). This endorsement may be added to an elementary or secondary license and may be obtained by completing 21 semester hours.

2. Is there a limit to the number of online courses I can take?
There is a limit to the number of total hours a student can take during any semester. For a limit on the number of hours, a student should consult the online catalog. However, a student should plan to take no more than two online courses at the same time.
3. Can I earn a degree online?
At the present time, Blue Mountain College does not offer a complete degree online.
4. What are fees?

Blue Mountain College Mississippi Teacher Scholarship, Effective Summer 2007 Semester: Blue Mountain College has instituted a teacher scholarship program to assist Mississippi teachers seeking certification in Library Media or Special Education. The total cost of a three-hour online course for Mississippi teachers seeking certification in Library Media or Special Education is $600 instead of the regular cost of $895. Mississippi Teachers who wish to take advantage of BMC's Teacher Scholarship Program should check the appropriate block on the application form which will be sent to them by mail.
5. How do I pay for my courses?
Once a student registers for a course, the Office of Business Affairs will send the student a bill by mail. The student may pay the bill by cash, check or credit card. No student will be given access to the online course until the bill is paid.
6. Will I qualify for financial aid?
Financial Aid is any form of money for your college education that comes from resources other than yourself. In general, students must be enrolled in at least 6 hours to receive financial aid and be degree seekers from Blue Mountain College. Online students enrolled in endorsement programs are not eligible for federal or state financial aid funds. You should submit your FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 each year. The priority deadline for need-based aid is March 1st of each year. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at 662-685-4771 (Ext. 141).
7. How do I apply?

8. How do I register?
On campus students register in the Office of the Registrar. Online students will be sent a registration form via email to complete and return to the Office of the Registrar.

9. Will I have an advisor?
Yes. An academic advisor will be assigned to you when you receive your acceptance letter.
10. How do I get books?
To order books online, please go to Blue Mountain College's online bookstore.
11. What is the course schedule?
Go to course schedule to see the proposed rotation of online courses.
12. How do my online courses work?
You will be required to complete an online training session to assist you in the mechanics of taking an online course. Your instructor will contact you about the time for online "chats."
13. What is your withdrawal policy?
Blue Mountain College has a NO REFUND POLICY regarding online courses. If a student opts to drop an online course, the student will receive no refund. Any student who desires to withdraw from Blue Mountain College should complete a withdrawal form obtained from the Office of the Registrar. Before the withdrawal can be processed, the student must secure a signature of clearance from a staff member in the Office of Business Affairs, the Office of Financial Aid, and, if a resident student, the Office of Student Affairs.
Should extenuating circumstances prevent the student, who is withdrawing from returning to campus, a telephone withdrawal to the Office of the Registrar may be accepted provided clearance can be secured from the Office of Business Affairs, the Office of Financial Aid, and the Office of Student Affairs. A student must, however, return any college properties on loan to the student such as library books, reference materials, chorale folders, etc.
Students who officially withdraw prior to the end of the eighth week of the semester or the eleventh class meeting of a regular summer term will have the non-punitive grade of W recorded on their transcript. Students who officially withdraw after the eighth week of the semester or the eleventh class meeting of a regular summer term will be assigned a grade of WP or WF by the instructor of the course involved based upon the quality of course work done by the student up to the withdrawal date. Students may not withdraw from a course after the twelfth week of the semester or after the seventeenth day of a regular summer term.
If a student drops out of a course without completing the official withdrawal form in the Office of the Registrar, a grade of F is recorded for each course at the end of the semester on the student's permanent record.
In rare circumstances, exceptions to the above deadlines and/or grading policies may be made by the Vice President for Academic Affairs. [Cross reference with Policy 2.13: Change of Class Schedule.]
The date that a student withdraws in writing in the Office of the Registrar is the date used for calculating any tuition refund. The institutional refund policy is distributed to students during registration and is printed in the "Finances" section of this Catalog.
