GENERAL EDUCATION COURSES
The purpose of the General Education Program at Blue Mountain College is to prepare students for a lifetime of learning. Inspired by and consistent with the mission as a Christian College, the program is designed to instill basic skills, knowledge, and attitudes deemed necessary for discipline study, global awareness, personal development, and reasoned response to a changing world. This educational experience should assist students as they build academic majors and minors and pursue meaningful careers in service to God and one another. All of the general education courses offered in the online format are required in degree programs at Blue Mountain College.
Blue Mountain College offers a Dual Enrollment Program whereby early admission may be granted an applicant who has completed the junior year in high school and has a favorable recommendation from a teacher and/or a high school counselor. In addition, the applicant must meet at least two of the following requirements:
1. Have GPA of 3.0 of above 2. Have a consistently "proficient" score in the state testing program 3. Have an ACT score of 20 or above 4. Have a class rank within the top 10 % of their class.

SPECIAL EDUCATION (SE) COURSES
Blue Mountain College through an approved program with the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), offers a supplemental endorsement in elementary and secondary Mild/Moderate Disability. The elementary supplemental K-8, which can only be added to an elementary license, may be obtained by completing 18 semester hours. The secondary supplemental endorsement, 7-12, which can be added to a secondary or special subject area license, may be obtained by completing 21 semester hours. A K-12 Mild/Moderate Disablility supplemental endorsement may be obtained by completing the non-overlapping 27 semester hours of course work.

LIBRARY MEDIA (LS) COURSES
Blue Mountain College, through an approved program wiht the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), offers a supplemental endorsement in Library Media (K-12). This endorsement may be added to an elementary or secondary license and may be obtained by completing 21 semester hours.

2. Is there a limit to the number of online courses I can take?
There is a limit to the number of total hours a student can take during any semester. For a limit on the number of hours, a student should consult the online catalog. However, a student should plan to take no more than two online courses each term.
3. Can I earn a degree online?
At the present time, Blue Mountain College does not offer a complete degree online.
4. What are fees?
Tuition for three-hour course: $885 (includes Registration fee) Technology Fee per course: $100 Total cost for a three-hour course: $985
Blue Mountain College Mississippi Teacher Scholarship: Blue Mountain College has instituted a teacher scholarship program to assist Mississippi teachers seeking certification in Library Media or Special Education. The total cost of a three-hour online course for Mississippi teachers seeking certification in Library Media or Special Education is $600 instead of the regular cost of $925. Mississippi Teachers who wish to take advantage of BMC's Teacher Scholarship Program should check the appropriate block on the application form.
5. How do I pay for my courses?
Once a student registers for a course, the Office of Business Affairs will send the student a bill via email. The student may pay the bill by cash, check or credit card. No student will be given access to the online course until the bill is paid.
6. Will I qualify for financial aid?
To be eligible for financial aid at Blue Mountain College, you must:
-Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
-Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an elegible certification program
-Be in current standing on all student loans and grants from any institution
-Have approval for final admission to Blue Mountain College
-Have a complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with Blue Mountain College -Apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at http://www.pin.ed.gov (if you do not already have one). -Complete the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Blue Mountain College school code is 002398.
-Contact the Office of Financial Aid after you have completed your FAFSA. The financial aid staff will provide the forms required to process a federal loan. 7. How do I apply?

8. How do I register?

9. Will I have an advisor?
Yes. The Program Coordinator for Online Instruction and the Vice President for Academic Affairs serve as advisors for online students.
10. How do I get books?
Go to Blue Mountain College's online bookstore to order textbooks or to obtain text ISBN numbers for ordering elsewhere.
11. What is the course schedule?
Go to course schedule to see the proposed rotation of online courses.
12. How do my online courses work?
You will be required to complete an online training session to assist you in the mechanics of taking an online course. Once you are registered, the Program Coordinator for Online Instruction will email you instructions for training.
13. What is your withdrawal procedure?
Students who have completed the registration process, which includes receiving final admission into the college, submitting a completed registration form and receiving financial clearance from the Office of Business Affairs, incur an automatic non-refundable $100 fee. A student may receive a refund of course tuition, less the $100 non-refundable fee, if the withdrawal is prior to receiving access to course content. "Access to Course Content" is when the Registrar has uploaded your enrollment data into the system. Both the tuition for the course and the technology fee are non-refundable after the student receives access to the course content. Students who withdraw from an online course will receive a "W" grade through the fourth week of the online term. Students who withdraw after the fourth week will receive a "WP" or "WF". Students may not withdraw an from the online course after the fifth week.
14. What is your class attendance policy?
Blue Mountain College requires class attendance. According to BMC Policy 2.10, students who miss classes 25% of the time will receive an automatic F in the course. Each professor will include an attendance requirement in the syllabus. Since each of the courses meets 8 weeks, two weeks of non-attendance, which is 25% of the time in the course, will result in an automatic F. Each assignment for the week must be completed within the week to receive full attendance. The professor may specify other assignments which constitute an attendance.
