Message from the Department Chair: Greetings from the department of Fine Arts and Speech and welcome to our site. I am very pleased that you are browsing through our department exploring the degrees and programs of study we offer. It is my personal hope and prayer that you will thoroughly consider Blue Mountain College for your future studies and special place for personal growth and development. I welcome you to our department and invite you to seek how we may assist you in developing your gifts and preparing for fruitful service in a career or ministry in the visual, performing, and worship arts. Please enquire with our talented and caring faculty pertaining to the classes we teach and all the means we use to help develop and refine your musical and artistic gifts. As a Christian liberal arts college we celebrate the arts and God’s uniquely gifting of each of us as we have been created in His image. This department desires to represent our college well in teaching and public performances in gratitude to God and especially welcomes students who are creatively and musically gifted to cultivate and use their gifts. If you become a student at Blue Mountain College within this department we pledge to help you cultivate your performing skills through private instruction and participation in Chorale, worship leadership teams, and staged musical productions. We strive to equip you with skills that will enable you to become gifted teachers, choral conductors, and theater directors, as well as performers and artists. We also work and teach to inspire you and encourage your passion for the arts so that you may inspire, teach, and lead others to use their gifts as well. Furthermore, if you are being called to a ministry in music and worship leadership we commit ourselves to equip you and confirm God’s call on your life to glorify Him in all that you do and to lead His people in glorious worship.
