Lynn Mayhall Heaven hosted a beautiful luncheon in her home for Birmingham AL area Blue Mountain College alumni, March 6. Lynne shares this report:
What a wonderful time we had today talking about our time at BMC, learning about classmates and each other. We had 7 in attendance: Karen Norman Kennedy, ’78; Lynne Mayhall Heaven & Barbara Rahrer, ’71; Jo Anne Hopkins Baker, ’68; Sarah Spain, ’64; Sylvia Strickland Malone, ’54; Martha Edge Durham, ’53.
I had received wonderful notes and calls from many of you who could not attend and shared those. Such a good time was had by all that no one thought about leaving until Martha's husband arrived to pick her up around 2 pm. We learned about many of our fellow BMC'ers who are unable to get out and discussed making periodic visits to those with an interest. Many stories were shared and we learned that Sylvia would play Mother Berry in a play to be produced next Founder's Day. I know that I don't want to miss that!
We discussed the changes at BMC and our happiness that the spirit of the college appears to have survived intact in a changing world and environment. Much appreciation was expressed at the impact BMC had on our various lives and we shared our life stories of where we had come after leaving that special place on the hill.
