This week, Blue Mountain College (BMC) announced that with the enrollment surge they are experiencing, they have a unique problem; the band has more than doubled in size, from 22 to 47, and there aren’t enough instruments.

“Blue Mountain has long maintained a practice of providing opportunities for students that they may not have at another college or university and BLUESOUND, the Blue Mountain band, is one of those opportunities,” said the campaign introduction email to all alumni this week.

The campaign goal is $75,000 and all gifts are tax deductible, and gifts of any size, large or small, are appreciated.

“The band can be a huge recruiting tool for the school. When one program grows, the whole school benefits,” says Dalton Tudor, a sophomore Biology and Pre-Med major who plays trumpet in the band.

BLUESOUND is a great part of BMC to contribute to. Visit the BLUESOUND webpage,, to learn more about the campaign and to learn how to give.
